As we wrap up the fourth week of the 2024 GGPoker World Festival, it’s time to recap the thrilling action and monumental wins so far. This past week, players participated in tournaments boasting guarantees of nearly $60 million, and even more was won in total. There is still more than $100 million guaranteed, and the festival promises a plethora of excitement ahead.

Since our last update, approximately 160 events have concluded. This recap will focus on two major events from each tier, but first, let’s review the four leaderboards, which offer a combined $2,500,000 in prizes.

Leaderboard Updates

At the pinnacle of the competition, the Super High Leaderboard awards $1,000,000 to the top 100 players. Leading this leaderboard is R Romanovskyi with 3,218.49 points, as he continues his dominance at the super high stakes, having earned over 400 points since the last update. Trailing Romanovskyi by over 300 points is well-known pro Niklas Astedt, a GGPoker Team Champion, with David Peters in third place, 225 points further behind. While the competition remains fierce, it now looks like Romanovskyi could go wire to wire on the leaderboard, a very impressive feat.

Andrii Derzhypilskyi remains in fourth place, having climbed to 2,305 points, while Jans Arends, completes the top five with an increase to 2,211 points. Bert Stevens continues to close the gap and is now up to 2193 points, and holding in sixth place. Alex Theologis, sits in seventh with 2,166 while Pedro Padilha is in eighth place with 2,090 points. Vladimir Minko jumps into 9th place with 1,936 and Juan Dominguez rounds out the top 10 with 1,877 points.

The High Stakes Leaderboard shows a more condensed race between third and fifth place, with just 132 points separating them, while the top 2 have started to pull away. At the top of the leaderboard is Jacopo Olivieri with 4,626.52 points, while ‘AyrtonSenn@’ is close behind in second with 4,514.98. It’s more than a 400-point drop down to third, with ‘Iambeggar’ sitting in with 4,090.09 points. Sitting in fourth place is ‘Chicharito14’ with 3,987.54, while high stakes regular N Maimone maintains fifth place with 3,968 points. Everyone is still in the race for the biggest share of the $750,000 prize, but will anyone be able to catch the leaders?

The Medium Leaderboard, which pays out $500,000 to the top 500 players, saw a lot of movement this past week. ‘Zemachess’ jumped from fifth to take the lead with 5,548.30 points. Just 20 points behind is the previous leader, ‘Bowrot-’ who sits comfortably in second with 5,528.30 points. ‘SzwamyChlapiec’ fell to third with 5,213.91 points while ‘buenaonda’ maintained their fourth place position with 5,195.90 points. ‘SpicyTaco’ rounds out the top 5, dropped one position, having accumulated 5,136.42 points so far through the competition. This is looking to be an exciting race heading into the last week of the competition as the top spot on the leaderboard will receive a bonus of $40,000.

On the Low Stakes Leaderboard, which awards $250,000 to the top 1,000 players, ‘Survivor39’ earned nearly 800 points to maintain the lead with 5,992.82 points. In second place, 211 points behind, is ‘Marin win’ with 5,781.63 points, having closed the gap by nearly 100 points. The leaderboard is completed by ‘maruzzz’ in third with 5,700.21 points.
