DARK HORSE DELIVERS! Sven Andersson Claims Second GGMillion$ Title With $327K Upset Victory

Epic $326,577 GGMillion$ Title – GGMillion$ Season 2025 Episode 42
This week’s GGMillion$ saw regular host Jeff Gross joined by special guest co-commentator Bryan Paris to present a stunning finale to the $10,000 weekly event on GGPoker. Legends of the online felt such as Simon Beckman, Oliver Weis, and Aliaksei Boika all battled for glory.

Pre-Match Betting Odds
With the final nine packed full of talent, the chip leader at the start was the Serbian GGMillion$ regular Danilo Velasevic, who began the final on a massive stack of 100 big blinds. As a result, he was available at odds of 3.88 before the kick-off. Velasevic’s Serbian colleague ‘Vlada2018’ was his nearest rival on 73 big blinds, at odds of 6.1, slightly longer, but ultimately this was down to the chip leader’s superior experience and chip stack.
German player Simon Beckman began the action third in chips on 66 big blinds, and at odds of 6.02, he was the second favorite for a good reason. Beckman is a genuine online poker star, and we backed him to win outright at those odds, given the combination of his history in the game and the size of his stack. Swedish players Sven Andersson in fourth (55BB/7.0) and Simon Mattsson as the short stack (13BB/21.02) had wildly varied odds and chances, with Russian player Leonid Orman (38BB/9.44) as the middle pin of the nine.
Of the underdogs towards the bottom of the chipcounts at the final table, Oliver Weis (36BB/12.06) was a very appealing bet too. At the same time, Belarusian Aliaksei Boika (35BB) was even shorter odds, available at 9.52, and our outside bet for a very deep run. Brazilian player ‘Deputadim’ was on 29 big blinds at the start of play and available at odds of 17.16.

Key Moments from the Felt
Early skirmishes were fierce, but none ended with the field being reduced in number. The first player to leave was Leonid Orman (1:25:30) as the Russian ran pocket jacks into the pocket aces belonging to Danilo Velasevic. The chip leader survived the board to send Orman from the felt with a cash of $46,654.
Aliaksei Boika was the next player to leave as he shoved pre-flop with ace-eight only to run into Velasevic’s pocket jacks. Another jack on the flop spelled doom for Boika and he was ousted in eighth place for $59,501 after a fourth jack made it ‘Death by Quads’ on the river.

‘Vlada2018’ was perhaps the unluckiest player to lose their tournament life across the entire evening, getting their stack into the middle on a turn of a board showing J-7-2-Q with pocket kings (1:34:15). ‘Deputadim’ held queen-jack, and that two-pair held through the river, eliminating the Serbian player, who had started in second place, for $75,886.
A brilliant call from Simon Mattsson sent Oliver Weis home in sixth place for $96,783 as the German player gambled his last chips with ace-four on a flop of T-5-2. Calling with ace-king, the Swedish player Mattsson was spot on, and Weis missed his gutter shot and three-outer draw too to depart outside the final five.
Another German player departed in fifth place as Simon Beckman shoved with king-jack and was called to defeat by Velasevic with king-queen. A jack came on the flop but a queen on the river left just four players in with a chance of victory, as Deputadim led the field on 7.44 million chips, with Velasevic (5.6m), Simon Mattsson (2.71m), and Sven Andersson (2.09m) all chasing the pacesetter.

Mattsson was the unfortunate victim of escalating blinds when he committed all his chips pre-flop with ace-seven of diamonds. Called by ‘Deputadim’ with pocket jacks, two more jacks came on the flop and turn as quad jacks eliminated a GGMillion$ player for the second time of the night! It still represented a stunning return on his investment for the short stack, as the Swede won $157,425 in fourth place, having started in ninth.
The starting chip leader drifted to a short stack and decided to go all-in with king-ten for eight big blinds (3:03:30). Called by Sven Andersson with ace-three, the Swedish player held through the board, hitting top pair on the flop and improving to trips on the river to send the Serbian overnight chip leader home with $200,775 in third place.
Heads-up, Andersson had a big lead and eventually made it count despite an early fightback from ‘Deputadim’. On a flop of 8-7-6 (3:19:00), Andersson had eight-deuce while ‘Deputadim’ had ace-nine for the open-ended straight draw. All the chips went in, and Andersson won the day, as ‘Deputadim’s draw failed to come in, and Andersson earned the win he craved.

How Did Andersson Win as an Outsider?
A terrific show from Swedish player Sven Andersson booked the second win of his career at a GGMillion$ final table. Starting way back in fourth, he might have been an outside bet at 7 to 1, and even though he was a long short stack with four left, he got the job done, coming through to win the massive $326,577 top prize.
“How did he do it?’ asked Jeff Gross to co-host Bryan Paris. “He was a dark horse, showing up out of nowhere and getting the chips.”
“He held on until he got four-handed,” said Paris. “He won a couple of flips and took it from there. I thought he played great.”
