A Landmark Moment for Canadian Poker
The 2026 WSOP Super Circuit Canada is not simply another tournament series on the calendar. It is the first-ever WSOP Super Circuit event to be held anywhere in Canada, and the first of its kind in all of North America. The Super Circuit brand represents the highest tier of WSOP Circuit programming outside of the annual World Series itself, and its arrival in Montreal signals just how far the city’s poker scene has come. With a $10,000,000 guaranteed Main Event, a two-week schedule packed with 18 ring events, and a total prize pool commitment of over $14,000,000, this is unquestionably the largest and most significant poker festival ever staged on Canadian soil.

A Venue Built for Historic Moments
Playground is no ordinary poker room. Named the World’s Best Poker Room at the Global Poker Index (GPI) Awards, the Kahnawake gaming destination has earned a reputation as one of the premier live poker facilities anywhere in the world. Situated just minutes from downtown Montreal, Playground combines first-class facilities, a deep tournament calendar, and an atmosphere that serious players travel from across continents to experience. The venue’s dedicated poker floor, professional staff, and capacity to handle massive fields have made it the natural home for the WSOP’s most ambitious Canadian venture to date.
The WSOP in Montreal: A Decade of Record-Breaking History
The World Series of Poker’s presence in the Montreal region stretches back to 2013, when the WSOP Circuit first came to Casino de Montreal. By 2015, the series had relocated to Playground, and what followed was a decade of escalating success that turned the venue into a globally recognized tournament destination.
The 2018 WSOP Circuit stop at Playground remains one of the landmark moments in Canadian poker history. That festival drew 8,169 total entries across all events and distributed more than $5,000,000 in prize money. The Main Event alone attracted 2,401 entries, breaking the all-time WSOP Circuit record for Main Event participation and announcing to the poker world that Montreal could compete with any city on the planet for sheer field size and player enthusiasm.
After a hiatus, the circuit returned to Playground in 2024, and the venue demonstrated that the appetite for world-class poker in Montreal had only grown. The August 2025 WSOP Circuit Main Event drew 1,978 entries and generated a $4,450,500 prize pool, the largest in WSOP Circuit Main Event history at that time. One of the most remarkable stories from that event involved a player who had entered through a $75 satellite on GGPoker, ultimately navigating the entire field to claim a $620,000 first-place prize. That result stands as a testament to the transformative potential of GGPoker’s online qualification pathways, and it is precisely the kind of story the 2026 Super Circuit is positioned to produce on an even grander scale.
A Schedule Built for Every Level of Player
The 2026 WSOP Super Circuit Canada schedule has been constructed to offer meaningful competition at every buy-in level. The 18-event lineup ranges from $500 entry points all the way up to $25,000, ensuring that both recreational players and seasoned professionals have events tailored to their game.
The $500 Mini Main Event carries a $500,000 guarantee, giving players who want the full Main Event atmosphere without the higher buy-in a competitive and rewarding option. The $2,300 Super Circuit Championship provides another prestige ring event in the mid-range. High-stakes players will gravitate toward the $14,000 GGMillion$ High Roller, which boasts a $1,000,000 guarantee, while the $25,000 Super High Roller promises one of the most elite fields assembled in Canada this year. The schedule also spans a variety of formats beyond No-Limit Hold’em, including Progressive Knockouts, Pot-Limit Omaha, and the widely popular Mystery Bounty format, ensuring there is genuine variety throughout the two weeks of play.
The Main Event itself is structured around six starting flights running from September 3 through September 6, giving players the flexibility to choose their preferred entry day and re-enter if desired before the field consolidates for the later stages.
How to Qualify
GGPoker has built a satellite pathway that puts the Main Event within reach of every Canadian poker player, with entry points starting at just $1. Stage 1 satellites feed into Stage 2 qualifiers, which in turn lead to a final qualifying stage where the prize is a direct seat in the $5,000 Main Event. Players in Ontario have access to dedicated direct satellite tournaments on GGPoker’s Ontario platform, while players in the rest of Canada can work their way through the WSOP Express satellite system. Given the history of online qualifiers outperforming expectations at past Playground events, and given the size of the prize pool now on offer, there has never been a better time to start a satellite run at GGPoker.
