The GG World Festival: Just Another Wild Sunday

GG World Festival 2026 | Episode 7: May 22 through May 24
The GG World Festival 2026 does not slow down for anyone. The GGPoker community continues to pile into every tier, every format, and every buy-in level with the kind of enthusiasm that has pushed this series to just short of $200 million in total prize pools, compared to the $160 million guaranteed, through the first three weeks, shared by players from over 130 countries. This episode covers the weekend, with a multitude of tournaments on the schedule, including the weekend’s biggest events in terms of both prize pool and field size. The final table of the $10K GGMillion Main Event is now just one day away, and you can watch it streamed on ggpoker.tv. Here is how the weekend played out.
SUPER TIER
Event 214-S: $5,250 Sunday Main Event Buy-in: $5,000 + $250 | No-Limit Hold’em | Super Tier
One hundred three entries nearly doubled the $300,000 guarantee, producing a $515,000 prize pool. The tournament played out across 7 hours and 52 minutes and was eventually won by Alex Foxen, showcasing a Canadian flag.
🥇 1st — Alex Foxen (Canada) — $87,211.01
🥈 2nd — Joao Vieira (Brazil) — $73,436.80
🥉 3rd — D Velasevic (Serbia) — $61,838.17
Joao Vieira picks up his second final table highlight result of the festival over the past two episodes, adding another deep run to what has been a strong series for the Brazilian.
Event 216-S: $1,500 Sunday Showdown [Mystery Bounty] Buy-in: $712.50 + $712.50 + $75 | Mystery Bounty | Super Tier
Four hundred forty-seven entries pushed the prize pool to $636,975 against a $600,000 guarantee, and took 7 hours and 35 minutes to finish. The final six players struck an ICM chop, producing an unusual payout order across the board, as is to be expected with ICM chops.
🥇 1st — Sven Andersson (Austria) — $31,940.15 + $14,100 Bounty Rewards
🥈 2nd — Joao Simoa (Brazil) — $29,081.34 + $25,900 Bounty Rewards

💥 Biggest Mystery Bounty — IamBusinessman (Russia) — 8th place: $7,248.90 + $80,000 in Bounties
The ICM chop produced some eye-catching inversions, with Bernard Larabi taking home more than both the official first and second place finishers. The real headline though, belongs to IamBusinessman, who busted 8th and still walked away with over $87,000 thanks to an $80,000 mystery bounty. Finishing outside the top six and still taking the top of the prize list is the mystery bounty format doing exactly what it promises.
